# Treat dispenser API serving empty bowls

## Updates

### + Resolved — Oct 2, 6:32 AM

affects: hairball detectors (operational)

The primary food server is back on the shelf (away from the edge) and treats are being served normally. No snacks were permanently lost. We've added a paw-guard to the rack and will review our "knock things off tables" incident playbook. Thanks for your patience, and sorry to every cat who had to yell at 6 a.m.

### x Identified — Oct 2, 6:29 AM

affects: hairball detectors (degraded performance)

We've found the cause: a cat knocked the primary food server off the desk, and failover routed every request to the "on a diet" replica. We're restoring the primary and re-filling the cache (and the bowls).

### x Investigating — Oct 2, 6:27 AM

We're receiving reports that the /treats endpoint is returning empty bowls. Several cats have escalated by sitting directly on keyboards. We're looking into it and will share more shortly.
